Description : Includes numerous texts from the 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries, with the earliest being the 1250 Latin Vulgate, Medieval Manuscript. This collection includes many first edition printings: Greek, Latin, English, American, and Foreign Language, as well as prominent second editions. Many of the Bibles in this collection include multiple copies. Languages: English and Foreign Languages (including but not necessarily limited to): Greek, Hebrew, Latin, Singhalese, German, Swedish, French, Spanish, Hawaiian, Arabic, Icelandic, African, Eskimo, Bulgarian, etc. Also includes Bibles in the Native American languages of Dakota (Sioux), Nez Perce, Chippewa, Cherokee, Mohawk, MicMac. Also various diglots, polyglots, and hexaglots – including the famous 17th century Walton Polyglot. Also includes shorthand Bibles in Pitman’s shorthand (circa 1890-1900). Bindings: Gothic, Leather, Original Paper Boards, Gilt, Gauffered, Fine Binding, Fore-Edge Paintings and Cloth - as well as unique bindings such as tiger striped, leopard skin, Mother of Pearl, Jerusalem Olive Wood, and Tortoiseshell.
